Names @ babies

Recently a Chinese couple filed to have their baby named ‘@’ (yes, the @ symbol) because to a Mandarin Chinese speaker, saying ‘at’ in English can sound like ai ta, which means ‘love him.’ It’s obvious they don’t though.

Still, other parents may want to jump on the bandwagon to have their child spotlighted when the inevitable follow-up story is run: Where is baby @ now? And how many others are there like him? For those parents who wish to capitalize on this fame name, they may want to consider some variations to keep the baby’s name unique:

  • Star Wars fans parents: @@
  • Still undecided parents: @?
  • Metalhead parents: @xl
  • Mathematician parents: @=mc^2
  • Rapper parents: lil’@
  • Workaholic parents: @work
  • Elvis fan parents: @lvis
  • Parents of twins: @1 and @2
  • Rich parents: $
  • Redneck parents: D@rryl

I’ll be doing a little something along those lines. I’m renaming all my kids so that their names all line up with what I call them already:

  • @#* #&^*%! (God dammit)
  • @*!% *^#|! (Jesus Christ)
  • @)(*^!@(*#^ (sonofabitch)

Norge Forge: we even do baby names.
